Working and studying as an Interpreter

After working and studying as an Interpreter for over 5 years, I became aware of the varies problems faced by both interpreters and clients when sourcing and offering interpreting services.

  • for clients it can be expensive, confusing and often twice the price compared to if they were to pay the interpreter directly.
  • for interpreters working through agencies, many barriers can exist such as not being able to communicate directly with clients, payment issues and working with agencies with little to no experience of the interpreting field.

After months of development and planning the dream has been realised and we are proud to introduce The Interpreter Initiative; the first digital BSL/English Interpreter booking system that gives the control back to the interpreters, clients and Deaf community.
